When someone is being hired with a start date of 7/1, they will have an open enrollment task instead of a new hire task. Workday will not allow multiple events on 7/1 since it's the beginning of the benefit plan year.  The new hire should complete the open enrollment event.  If neither event is there (this means they were hired prior to 6/1 in the system, send to HA.  HA can trigger the event for them.

This is also true for a Qualifying Life Event before 7/1/24.  So if someone marries on 7/1 and tried to declare a life event, marriage, they will not be able to.  These employees should be sent to HA.

If an employee contacts you asking about the Benefits enrollment task and they have 7/1 hire date:

  1. Check that they have completed all Onboarding, including part-2 of their i-9 and that they have a home address in the US. Benefits enrollment task will not trigger with international address or outstanding i-9.
  2. Then you can transfer them to Health Advocate to trigger the task for them.

If it's an email, you can reply with:

"I'm escalating forwarding to our Benefits Partner, Health Advocate, for review. You can also reach out to them at 866-799-2329 or answers@healthadvocate.com. "

Then forward an email to Susannah Schenskie, sschenskie@healthadvocate.com, and Ruzica Pejcic, rpejcic@healthadvocate.com, and Samantha Pohl spohl@healthadvocate.com ask if they can trigger the open enrollment task for the employee.

Provide confirmation back to employee, once received.
